Holdings and function

The library holds about 40.000 media units, incl. about 500 current journals. The main function of the library is to provide a primary source of literature for the scientific research staff, students and the public. There are no external loans: all material must remain on the premises.

Access to holdings

The literature is classified according to the principles of the Bibliotheksverbund Bayern via Gateway Bayern. For further details see the OPAC search system of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. We are not attached to interlibrary loan, and loan inquiries should be directed to the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek. The former in-house periodicals Mitteilungen der Botanischen Staatssammlung München (1958–1991) and Sendtnera (1993–2002) are freely available online. The booklets of the running series Arnoldia publish schedae of exsiccatae.
