Julius Schäffer
Julius Schäffer (1882, Markgröningen – 1944, Diessen am Ammersee): teacher, mycologist, specialist e. g. for the genera Agaricus, Cortinarius and Russula.

More than 900 of his watercolour drawings of Basidiomycetes (mainly Agaricales and Russulales) are housed in the Botanische Staatssammlung München. The exemplary imaging and image editing of eight water colours by Julius Schäffer was done by staff members of the BSM in 1996.
