Julius Schäffer
Julius Schäffer was born on June 2, 1887 in Markgröningen (Baden-Württemberg, Germany): teacher, mycologist, and specialist e. g. for the genera Agaricus, Cortinarius and Russula.

More than 900 of his watercolour drawings of Basidiomycetes (mainly Agaricales and Russulales) are housed in the SNSB – Botanische Staatssammlung München. The exemplary imaging and image editing of eight watercolours by Julius Schäffer was done by staff members of the BSM in 1996.
Julius Schäffer died in 1944 in Diessen am Ammersee (Bavaria, Germany).
