The collection

The Bryophytes Collection at the Botanische Staatssammlung München (M) comprises approx. 400,000 specimens

Subdivisions in 5 groups: Andreaeideae, Anthocerotae, Bryidae, Hepaticae, Sphagnidae.

Within the groups, the genera and subgeneric taxa are arranged alphabetically. Types and exsiccatae are included. We estimate that there are more than 7,000 type specimens.
