Note (by U. Braun, Halle/ S., Germany): The host plant grew very close to and partly below a shrub of Ruscus aculeatus L. heavily attacked by Paraphaeosphaeria rusci (see Microf. Exs. no. 279). Ruscus hypoglossum was undoubtedly infected by this source. The lesions mainly contain ascospores, partly germinated, and the Coniothyrium-anamorph.
