Note (by J. David, IMI, Egham, U.K.): This fungus belongs to the C. herbarum aggregate on account of its possession of richly branched conidial chains, which is indicated by the large number of ramoconidia seen in slide preparations. Within the aggregate it belongs to a group characterised by the presence of nodulose conidiophores, 1–3-septate, ovate-ellipsoid conidia with relatively thin walls. Further details will appear in a partial revision of Cladosporium (David in prep.).
